Photoshop Before and After

For an ad campaign design that I did I did some photoshop retouching. Now the model is lovely … but, I had a chance to clean up the photo some and enhance her eyes. See the before and after in some detail here.

What connects Boston to New York?

Dightondesign!!

A photo that I took on a trip to Arizona will be featured as a background on the New York company website, Honeydrops. My trip to Arizona during a Thanksgiving Holiday brought me to my brother-in-law’s vacation home with some family members. We enjoyed a warm Thanksgiving day with beautiful mountain views. We had some drinks by the pool and reminisced on this Arizona Thanksgiving Day. His backyard had beautiful lemon trees. Since I am from the Boston area, I do not get to actually see lemon trees. I snapped some photos. The sky was especially blue that day, so the yellow lemons really popped. Honeydrops loved the photo and they will use it as a background on their website. Now…I HAVE to try a Honeydrops drink…made with real honey!! Sweet!

News from the Taunton Daily Gazette:

A holiday tradition nearly a century old will continue next Friday when the community gathers for the annual lighting of Taunton Green.

Each December, downtown Taunton is transformed into a massive holiday display, featuring thousands of lights and dozens of larger-than-life decorations and displays. Workers from the city and Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant have spent weeks hanging lights, erecting temporary structures and installing decorations ranging from penguins to Santa Claus.

Anyone attending the Lights On festivities needs to have a button for admission. Buttons are available from Heart of Taunton and select downtown businesses, and cost $6 in advance, or $8 at the gate.

The lighting of Taunton Green dates back to 1914, when downtown merchants came up with the idea to attract people to their stores for holiday shopping. The decorations evolved over the years, and the event grew.

What is a QR code? According to Wikipedia, A QR code (abbreviated from Quick Response code) is a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code) first designed for the automotive industry. More recently, the system has become popular outside of the industry due to its fast readability and comparatively large storage capacity. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded can be made up of any kind of data (e.g., binary, alphanumeric, or Kanji symbols).

Holiday Designs are Already Starting

I love the Holiday Season…when I design I put on the holiday tunes and start designing. I find I am in the spirit and produce better designs when I am listening to music. I have been designing the holiday program posters for the Edgewood church of Christ for some years now. I design the poster for the holiday program, the invitations to the holiday event, the web ad promoting the holiday event, the program cover and any black and white newspapers ads that they may need. I usually start with the poster, since that is the one that needs the most elements (other than the inside of the program). I have started this years…what do you think? I hope this holiday is a festive one for you all…I say…put on the tunes!!
